Sync Your Products and Set Up Your First Order Auto Trigger

Get your Meta catalog showing up in GetGabs, then make sure customers automatically hear from you when their order ships.

Before You Start, Make Sure You Have

  • A Meta commerce catalog already connected to your WhatsApp Business Account, with at least one product in it.
  • At least one WhatsApp template already approved that you want to send when an order’s status changes — e.g., “Your order has shipped.” (See the Message Templates article if you need to create one).
  • Permission to manage Catalog on this account.

Syncing Your Products – Follow Simple Steps

Pull your Meta catalog into GetGabs so those products show up for customers.

1. Open Product List

Go to CatalogProduct List. If this is your first time here, the list will be empty.

2. Sync From Meta

Click Sync Products in the top right, then confirm in the dialog that appears.

Common Mistake –Syncing replaces the whole list with what’s currently on Meta — it doesn’t merge. If you’ve made manual edits in GetGabs through Manage Products that haven’t been pushed to Meta yet, sync can overwrite them. Use Manage Products for one-off edits and Sync Products only when you want GetGabs to match Meta exactly.

3. Confirm Your Products Appear

Once the sync finishes, the Product List tab fills in with cards for each product — image, name, description, price, and retailer ID. This is what customers will be able to order through your WhatsApp catalog.

What Happens Next

  • Customers browsing your WhatsApp catalog will see these products, ready to order.
  • Need to add a product Meta doesn’t have yet, or tweak one without a full re-sync? Use Manage Products instead — it edits your Meta catalog directly.

Setting Up Your First Order Auto Trigger

So a customer automatically hears from you the moment their order is marked as Dispatched.

1. Open Order Auto Triggers

Go to CatalogOrder Auto Triggers. You’ll see three cards — Pending, Dispatched, and Completed. Find the Dispatched card.

2. Pick Your Template

In the Dispatched card, use the template combobox (a searchable dropdown) to find and select your approved “order shipped” template. The message preview updates to show it.

Common Mistake – If the combobox says “No approved templates found,” your template isn’t approved by Meta yet — there’s nothing to fix here; you’ll need to wait for approval or pick a different, already-approved template.

3. Map Your Variables

If your template has variables like {{1}} or {{2}} , the Variable Mapping section lists each one — assign it to a real order field (Order ID, Customer Name, Product Name, Total Amount, and so on). For a simple “Your order has shipped, {{1}}!” template, you’d map {{1}} to Customer Name.

4. Turn It On And Save

Flip the card’s switch to Active, then click Save. If any variable is still unmapped, you’ll be blocked with a message telling you exactly which one — go back and finish mapping it.

5. Test It On a Real Order

Go to CatalogOrders, find any order, and change its status to Dispatched using the dropdown. Confirm the dialog that appears.

The confirmation dialog itself tells you that a message will go out: “This updates the order status and, if an Order Auto Trigger is active for this status, sends the linked WhatsApp message to the customer.” Confirm, and the customer should receive your template moments later.

What Happens Next

  • From now on, every order you mark as Dispatched sends that template automatically — no need to message customers by hand.
  • Repeat the same steps for the Pending and Completed cards whenever you’re ready, using a template suited to each stage.
  • Need to change the template or fix a mapping later? Open the card again, adjust it, and Save — or use Clear to reset the card and start over.
